Over 15 Years of Outstanding Music in the Tyrolean Alps
The musical highlight of the summer: Since its founding in 2008, the Musiktage Seefeld festival has developed into a premier event on the international music scene. Each year, up to 130 exceptional talents from around the world gather against the stunning backdrop of the Tyrolean Alps. Here, young musicians and established artists come together to celebrate the joy of music and present an extraordinary program. The Musiktage have shaped Seefeld, just as Seefeld has influenced a generation of young musicians. The Musiktage Seefeld is not only a meeting place for top-tier musical performances but also a hub for exchange and inspiration.
The history of the Music Days Festivals began nearly 25 years ago.
On the way to Belgium, many years ago.
A young violinist gazes out the window.
Outside, lights pass by like bar lines in a score.
Rudens Turku and his former classmate Daniel Röhn
sit together on a train, invited by the violinist Igor Oistrakh.
In their minds, the score. Their pulse already at their fingertips.
The bond that brings them together across borders:
The art of violin playing.
The music.
Here, in this moment, in this train compartment, Rudens Turku admires its power.
And he makes a decision:
To create a place for young musicians from around the world.
To foster connections between cultures and generations.
To continue weaving this bond together.
To build doors where there are walls.
To pave paths where there are borders.
The idea for the International Music Days is born.
Because music unites friends and strangers alike.
And it does so under the umbrella of the
International Music Days
from spring to late summer, for over 20 years.
Since then, we gather—250 musical souls from numerous countries—every year
in April in Starnberg, Germany!
and in August in Seefeld, Austria!
To seek and to discover.
To learn and to let go of what we’ve learned.
To make music together, gain new experiences, and
forge friendships across the globe – and to connect with you, our international audience.
In intensive masterclasses, we learn
to free our hands, heart, and breath, and to open our minds.
We learn to connect with our potential,
to understand its nature,
to question inner boundaries,
and to explore new territories.
We learn to forge tools from every failure,
to create space for something new to arise.
We learn to find our own frequency.
We make music, and we talk about music.
And whoever talks about music, talks about the world.
