Gabriele Ceci – Violin

He was born in April 1990 in a family of musicians, he dedicates himself to the study of violin at the Conservatory "N. Piccinni" of Bari and then, at the Conservatory "G. Frescobaldi" of Ferrara with M° A. Perpich. He succeeded very young at the competition "Vittorio Veneto" in 2004 and in the competition “Andrea Zanella” in 2007. 

In Duo (violin and piano), with his brother Mirco, he plays for important concert seasons: "Theatre Piccinni" of Bari, "Camerata Salentina", Festival Pontino "Mantova Contemporary Music", "Foundation Walton and La Mortella" Ischia, "Philharmonic Academy" of Messina, "Society of Concerts" of Milan, etc. In February 2011 he passed the selection to attend the Chamber Music Masterclass of "Schaffhausen" with Masters Menahem Pressler, Ana Chumachenco, Wen-Sinn and Werner Bärtschi. He cooperates in projects of chamber music with important artists like Thomas Ruge, Evgeny Sinaiski. Giulio Rovighi, Alfredo Zamarra, Giovanni Gnocchi, Laura Marzadori, Franco Petracchi, Bruno Giuranna, Rocco Filippini and Mariana Sirbu. As a soloist with the Orchestra he played several times the Mozart Concerto n. 4, n. 5, the Beethoven violin Concerto, several Wieniawski and Saint Saens virtuoso pieces (Faust Fantasie, Polonaise Brillante and Havanaise), the F. Mendelssohn Double Concerto and the Violin Concerto in E minor op. 64. 

With the Chamber Orchestra of the Perosi Academy of Biella he played the J.S. Bach double and triple concertos. In 2016 he records musics of Paganini and Giuliani for violin and guitar for the IMD Music. He attends Masterclasses of Massimo Quarta, Mariana Sirbu, Zakhar Brohn (by the Kronberg Academy) and Salvatore Accardo (by the Academy Chigiana of Siena and the Academy "Stauffer" of Cremona). Since 2009, he is going on with his studies at the Perosi Academy of Biella, with the Masterclasses of Ana Chumachenco and with the annual courses of the M° Rudens Turku. He wins the Second prize at the XIX International Violin Competition "Andrea Postacchini" with the Special Prize for the best performance of the Paganini Caprices and in 2014 the First Prize (Foerdepreis) at the International Violin Competition of Starnberg (Munich). In September 2015 he wins the Second Prize of the famous International Violin Competition Rodolfo Lipizer with the Special Prize for the best performance of a Romantic violin concerto. On Master S. Accardo request he cooperates with the Italian Chamber Orchestra from him conducted and since 2015 to 2024, he has been the Concertmaster of the Lyric and Symphonic Orchestra of the "Petruzzelli" Foundation of Bari. As Concertmaster, he often receives invitations from many theatres such as Teatro S. Carlo in Naples, La Fenice in Venice, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. Since 2024 he is a regular teacher of the Conservatorio N. Rota in Monopoli. 

He plays an instrument of the luthier from Genoa Paolo Castello of 1786.
